Jeremy Simons, PhD
Restorative Practitioner
Jeremy Simons has over 25 years of experience as a facilitator, educator, and researcher in restorative justice, peacebuilding, health, and community development. He partners with education, non-profit, health, and faith-based organisations, grounding relationships in strength-based approaches.
He has worked as a trainer and senior research fellow at the Te Ngāpara Centre for Restorative Practice (Victoria University Wellington) and supported the implementation of restorative practices in a variety of contexts.
Jeremy was born and raised in the Philippines where he worked for 8 years in support of indigenous peacebuilding and transitional justice initiatives . He has served as a prison chaplain and outreach worker in New Zealand and the Philippines and in the early 2000s helped establish one of the first district-wide restorative discipline programs in Denver Public Schools.
He has a PhD in peace and conflict studies from the University of Otago and an MA in conflict transformation from Eastern Mennonite University (USA).
