Elyse is a restorative justice facilitator, researcher and social worker with significant experience in designing and implementing culture change initiatives in a range of international and local contexts.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and a Master of Social Work (MSW), from the University of Ottawa. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Canterbury researching gender and culture change within the New Zealand Army. 

Elyse has accumulated unique and diverse experiences and helped shape the direction of the Canadian Armed Forces, the New Zealand Defence Force and the Canterbury District Health Board’s culture and transformation journeys. Specialising in sexual violence prevention and response as well as diversity and inclusion, she’s passionate about creating safe and positive workplaces.

She is a systems thinker and process driven which allows her to navigate the complex HR landscape and support its transformation from adversarial to person-centric.
